History
Established in 1965.
Economy Restaurant Fixtures was founded in 1965 by Mike Weinstock and his wife Betty. Economy's initial location was a small 4,000-square-foot building on San Francisco's Mission Street. Though Mike and Betty initially employed only a single warehouse person, Economy quickly outgrew its humble beginnings, and in 1975 took over an adjacent store, before relocating to a 25,000-square-foot facility on Howard Street.
In the late 1980s, Economy Restaurant Fixtures expanded to include an offering of design and contract services. In 1994, Jeff and Josh Weinstock joined the family firm, and in the following year Economy relocated to its current address on 7th Street in San Francisco's SOMA district.
In 2008 Economy merged with TriMark USA, a nationwide group of foodservice equipment and supplies dealers. This merger provided Economy with additional buying power, and allows the business to continue to grow.
